What is this?

This is a fork of AppVerifier (https://github.com/soupslurpr/AppVerifier), but many components have been removed, so it no longer serves the same purpose. Notably, it no longer includes peer-to-peer verification via clipboard sharing. This app only checks apps against our crowdsourced database.

App verifications & reliability

Please note that mismatch results may not always indicate an illegitimate app. For example, if we only have the F-Droid version of an app in our database, and you downloaded the app from Google Play where Google signed it with their own certificate, then your app would not match our database and will be flagged.

When you find a mismatch, we always recommend submitting that app information to our issue tracker, you will be prompted to do so within the app. We will work to verify the legitimacy of your submission. If the app you have is indeed legitimate, we will include it in the next app release. If the app you have is illegitimate, we will inform you in the submitted issue.

What this app is good for

Contributing to Privacy Guides' crowdsourced database (https://github.com/privacyguides/verified-apps/) of developer signing certificates.
If an app on your device is listed as unknown or a mismatch in this app, you will be shown a button to make a submission to our issue tracker, and it will automatically fill out the submission form to make the process as easy as possible for you. SMS Shield is a default SMS app focused on private, rule-based message filtering.

It supports keyword, sender, number, wildcard, and country-based block and allow rules, including Unicode and non-ASCII SMS content. Blocked messages are suppressed from regular notifications and kept in a dedicated blocked folder.

Messages can be searched, archived, returned to the inbox, deleted, grouped into chats, filtered by sent or received status, and marked to skip automatic archiving. Manual block overrides help recover false positives without changing the whole rule set.

The app also includes OTP copy support, local JSON import and export, dual-SIM send options, SIM indicators, delivery reports, and light, dark, and AMOLED themes with selectable accent colors.

SMS Shield does not use any web services or data connectivity at all. No cloud spam detection, no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no Firebase, no Google Play Services, no AI services. Pure rule-based on-device handling.

This is the UNOFFICIAL Syncplay client for Android. If you don't know Syncplay, have a look here. Syncplay synchronizes playback on different devices and makes sure everyone is watching the same thing at the same second, even if they're miles away.

What Syncplay Desktop needed is a Mobile client, people are using phones more than ever, so I dedicated myself to bringing its functionality to Android while keeping it compatible and interoperable with the Desktop version ! Overview

2fa's only purpose is to provide single-use codes known as one-time passwords. It is a two-factor authenticator, and the concept is nothing new. There are plenty of other authenticators and alternatives with more features but with worse security and privacy than ours. We built 2fa to take full advantage of your device's hardware security, along with the latest cryptographic standards, to keep your accounts safe. The app is offline and includes unique features that no other authenticator app offers.

Security

All accounts are stored inside the app's internal directory using our format with the .2fa extension. They are encrypted with AEGIS-256 and the key used is derived from hashing your passphrase with Argon2id. This method is used for both exports and internal storage, with the only difference being that internal storage takes an additional step by running the hash through HKDF using SHA3-512 with an additional random salt on every disk write.

If you choose to use biometrics, the passphrase hash must be stored. It's encrypted using the Android Keystore with AES-GCM and StrongBox (when available). The result is saved in the no_backup folder, in a file named unlock_passphrase_hash.bin, meaning it won't be included in system backups or when transferring to a new device. Also, the biometric key can become invalid due to several reasons. If this happens, decrypting won't be possible, and you will have to enter your passphrase, after which you will be prompted to confirm biometrics in order to re-establish them.

The Network Survey app enables logging cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and/or GNSS information to a log file (GeoPackage or CSV format). For cellular records it supports logging GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, and NR records.

You might receive an alert from anti-malware software indicating that Network Survey sends SMS messages in private manner to deceive users. This is NOT the case. SMS permission is necessary for some of the logging that is done. Just to be clear though, Network Survey does not send any text messages, nor does it install anything. In fact, you can deny all the SMS permissions if you are not using the CDR (call detail record) logging feature. The SMS permissions are only requested the first time you turn on CDR logging. This app has the ability to access your device's location in the background. The background location permission is needed to start Network Survey at boot. You can deny this permission if you don't want to start Network Survey at phone boot. The cellular logging feature logs several details about the current serving cell, and then some basic information about the neighbor cells. This app won't log all 5 cellular protocols at once. Instead, it will only log information about the protocols that are current connected. If logging for one specific protocol is desired, then the phone must be locked to that protocol (try using *#*#4636#*#* from the dial pad).

The cellular survey records can be streamed to either a gRPC server or a MQTT broker. This is not on by default and a gRPC server or MQTT Broker needs to be setup for this feature to work.

A bonus feature of this app is its ability to create a Call Detail Record (CDR) file. If enabled, CDR events are logged to a CSV file.

Simple Song Collector is a very basic Android app that allows search and download of the audio track from Youtube songs and videos.

There are several subscription music services available on Android, but none of them expose their song files or have a working API/SDK that would allow third party apps to access the users music library. Simple Song Collector will allow the user to find the same songs from their music library and get a physical song file on their Android device that other apps can use.

It is built primarily on top of the Newpipe Extractor library with very specific functionality to download the m4a track, add thumbnail, artist and title metadata, and then add the song file to the Android media library where other apps can browse them.

Lockscreen Widgets

A (very) long time ago, Android introduced a feature to allow you to show certain widgets on the lock screen. For some reason, this useful feature was removed with the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop, confining widgets to the home screen only.

While some manufacturers, such as Samsung, have brought back limited versions of lock screen widgets, you’re usually limited to the widgets the manufacturer has already created for you.

Well, no more! Lockscreen Widgets brings back the functionality of yore, with some extra features. Note that Lockscreen Widgets is not designed to function on the Always-On Display.

Lockscreen Widgets appears as a paged "frame" on top of your lock screen.
Add a widget by tapping the plus button in the frame. This plus button will always be the last page.
Each widget you add gets its own page, or you can have multiple widgets per page.
You can press, hold, and drag widgets to reorder them.
You can press and hold widgets to remove them or edit their size.
Tap the frame with two fingers to enter the editing mode where you can resize and move the frame.
Tap the frame with three fingers to temporarily hide it. It will show up again once the display turns off and back on.
Any home screen widget can be added as a lock screen widget.

Lockscreen Widgets also includes an optional Widget Drawer!

Widget Drawer has a handle you can swipe to bring it up from anywhere, or you can use the Tasker integration or shortcut to open it however you want. The drawer is a vertically scrolling list of widgets that can be resized and moved the same way as in the Lockscreen Widgets frame.

And this is all without ADB or root! All the basic privileges can be granted without even thinking about using a computer. Unfortunately, with Android 13 and later, you may need to use ADB or Shizuku to enable Masked Mode.

On the topic of privileges, these are the more sensitive permissions that Lockscreen Widgets needs to function:

Accessibility. In order to display on the lock screen, Lockscreen Widgets’ Accessibility Service must be enabled. You will be prompted to enable it if needed in the initial setup, and any time you open the app.
Notification Listener. This permission is only required if you want the widget frame to hide when notifications are displayed. You will be prompted if it’s needed.
Dismiss Keyguard. In order to improve the user experience, Lockscreen Widgets will dismiss the lock screen (or show the security input view) when it detects an Activity being launched from a widget, or when you press the "Add Widget" button. This will not compromise your device’s security in any way.

Lockscreen Widgets only works on Android Lollipop 5.1 and later because the necessary system features for displaying on the lock screen didn’t exist in Lollipop 5.0. Sorry, 5.0 users.

Auto Light: Precision Brightness Control

Auto Light is a specialized replacement for the standard Android adaptive brightness feature. Designed for users who demand absolute control, this app provides a custom-tailored brightness curve based on your specific environment.

This is a power-user tool that may require additionally manual configuration to function effectively.

For a proper function, it requires to disable the built-in Android Adaptive Brightness feature manually before using Auto Light app.

How It Works

The app utilizes a four-point non-linear mapping model to create a smooth brightness curve. If the predefined settings do not meet your requirements, it allows you to set intermediate points for four distinct ambient light levels and their corresponding intensities. The app then calculates the optimal intermediate values to ensure a smooth, predictable transition.

The Auto Light app utilizes Android’s notification system to ensure stable background performance. Since the app does not send active alerts or messages, you may choose to disable notifications in your Android system settings without affecting core functionality. To do this within the app, tap the three dots in the top-right corner, go to Settings, and ensure Notifications is toggled off.

Permissions & Privacy

To provide reliable system control without compromising privacy, Auto Light uses:

Modify System Settings: Necessary to adjust the display brightness levels.
Notifications (Service Persistence): Used to maintain a Foreground Service, ensuring the Android system does not terminate the app while it's monitoring light levels.
Run at Startup: Ensures your custom brightness profile is active immediately after a device reboot.
User Present & Configuration Change: Used strictly to trigger brightness adjustments when you unlock your phone or rotate the screen (No privacy-sensitive data is accessed).

Fokus Launcher is an Android launcher for people who want a simpler, cleaner default experience. It focuses on fast access to time, weather, and core apps with minimal visual noise.

Home Screen

The home screen is intentionally minimal: a large clock and date, battery status, optional weather, configurable favorite app labels, and a configurable right-side shortcut rail. Tap the clock, date, or weather to open the apps you configure for each in settings. Primary interactions are gesture-based: swipe up to open the app drawer, swipe down to expand the notification shade, and swipe left or right to launch shortcut targets.

App Drawer

The drawer supports quick search, categories you define in settings, and optional alphabetical or most-opened app order. When only one app matches a search, Fokus can launch it directly. Optional category sidebar mode replaces the inline search bar with a vertical category rail; use the search icon when you need text search. Long-pressing an app offers add to home, rename, hide, and uninstall.

Dot search keeps you in that same field for web or in-app search. Type a period, a space, and your query, for example ". cats"; that searches in your browser by default until you change the default under Dot search in settings. For letter shortcuts, type a period, one lowercase letter, a space, and your query, for example ".a coffee" when you assigned the letter "a" there. Dot search settings also list search-capable apps and lets you add HTTPS or deep-link URL templates with a placeholder for the query.

Customization

Edit home apps, configure right-side shortcuts (including launcher shortcut actions), hide or rename apps, choose a custom font, and manage launcher data from the settings screen.

Weather

Weather is powered by Open-Meteo. No account or API key is required. Results are cached for 30 minutes. Location permission is optional and only used for local weather.

Work Profile

Work profile apps are shown alongside personal apps in the drawer when a work profile is active on the device.

Private Space (Android 15+)

On Android 15 and above (API 35+), Fokus supports Android's Private Space with lock/unlock controls and a separate section in the app drawer for private apps when the space is unlocked.

Optional Device Controls

These features only work if you turn on accessibility for Fokus in Android settings.

Double tap to lock can turn off the screen from empty home space. Return home after long lock can bring Fokus back to the foreground on unlock once the device stayed locked longer than a threshold you choose.

First-Run Onboarding

On first launch, Fokus walks you through welcome, optional location permission, default-launcher setup, home-screen customization, swipe-shortcut setup, and quick gesture tips.

Recents is a replacement for the default system "recent apps" menu, especially useful if the system utility is unavailable (e.g. after removing the default launcher). It aims to provide all the system features, including launching the last launched app, displaying all apps by last use time and killing selected or all apps.

How to use

Launch "Recent apps" screen Assign the app to a custom shortcut (e.g. double-click of the power button) in your system settings. Upon triggering the shortcut, you will be shown a list of all your apps, sorted by last launch time. Alternatively, you could simply place the app in a convenient spot in your launcher.
Launch last app The app includes a custom shortcut, which (or its activity, LastAppActivity) can also be assigned to a custom shortcut, using any shortcut assigner. If you trigger the shortcut, you will be taken to the most recent app (excluding launchers and the current app), just like when double-tapping the "recents" button on a 3-button navbar.
Kill apps (Shizuku or root required) If you have Shizuku or root access, you may retain the functionality of killing apps. You can either kill apps individually, or use the "KILL ALL" button. Note: some system apps cannot be killed this way.
Setup your custom whitelist Don't want to show a bunch of OEM bloat on the list? Don't want to kill your alarm clock? Don't want to launch an app even if it was the last one launched? Mark them in settings as non-showing, non-killable or non-launchable.
Display running apps You may toggle between a full list of installed apps or just the running ones in settings. Bear in mind that "running apps" are defined by having an active task, which may be a bit different to how the system "recent apps" screen treats them.

LibreTube is an alternative frontend for YouTube, focusing on user privacy and better watching experience. It doesn't require any YouTube account or Google Services installed on your device.
In comparison to YouTube, LibreTube has some additional features like SponsorBlock, DeArrow, Subscription Groups, Playlist bookmarks, and many more. Apart from that, you can subscribe to channels and create private playlists just as you're used to from YouTube.
